Ski St
Gevais, Megeve,
St Nicholas, Combloux, Les Contamines, La Giettaz and Les
Houches all covered by the evasion Mont
Blanc lift pass.
This domain covers over 450kms of pistes with 113 lifts.
This area is
still relatively undiscovered by the British skier and is
therefore much quieter than its neighboring resorts especially
out of school holiday time.
St Gervais
this ski area is linked with Megeve and accessible via cable car
thus avoiding the queues joining at Megeve ( sometimes referred to
as the St Moritz of the French alps.) Beginners will find plenty
of Blue and green runs to practice their skills and the more
experienced skier will find many challenging runs both on and off
piste.
Les
Contamines a short drive from St Gervais this north facing
region has excellent skiing again for all abilities and a snowpark
for boarders and skier alike to try some stunts etc.
Les
Houches This hosts the downhill for Chamonix that you may
have watched on ski Sunday, you can access Les Houches rather
novelty by taking the tramway du Mont Blanc from the heart of St
Gervais village.
Combloux
again a short drive away finds you in a beautiful area with
great pistes encompassed in a pine forest.
There is also
great cross country skiing to be found at Les Contamines which
Ican vouch is great for the whole
family, skier and non-skier alike, a completely different
experience to normal skiing.
St Gervais also
hosts a Patinoire ( ice skating rink) where you can practise your
Bolero routine or alternatively watch a local ice hockey match
most weeks.
